Intro to Biology notes
- the term "biology" was first used in 1800
- before that, the study of living things was called Natural History and Medicine
-in 1866 , Ernst Haeckel coined the term "ecology timeline"
Taxonomy- system of organization with catagories inside catagories etc.
1707-1778 Carl Linneausmakes the first taxonomy of biology:
Kingdom
Phylum
Class
Order
Family
Genus
Species
Genus+Species=boinomial nomenclature (two name naming system)
